While there are a variation of the original "grand father" 45S5  
composition, majority of the FDA approved or cleared products use
the original 45S5 composition which contains 45% silicon oxide and
6% phosphorus oxide by weight, respectively.  Other FDA approved
or cleared derivatives include S53P4.  XL Sci-Tech has developed a
proprietary technology for volume production of bioactive glass
powders and microspheres, especially 45S5.  XL Sci-Tech's proprietary
property optimization stemmed from the pioneering effort of its
founders (Peng & Lei) in creating
full featured optimising glass
batching software that is based on rigorous computation algorithm
and material chemistries.  XL Sci-Tech is also capable of processing
customer supplied fritted bioactive glass powders into high quality
bioactive glass microspheres with enhanced consistency in
